Live Jazz and Holiday Traditions Return!

Our jazz bands are taking the stage in December as in-person performances resume at Roosevelt! JB1 will perform its time-honored Jazz Nutcracker to the music of Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn Dec. 4 at 7:30p.m. and Dec. 5 at 2pm. Then all four RHS jazz ensembles will show off their latest repertoire at Jazz Night, Thursday Dec. 9.

Seating will be assigned for all concerts and capacity will be limited in response to public health guidelines. We’ll be asking for volunteers to make these concerts a successful return to live performance!

We are developing fine musicians and compassionate young adults who understand and respect the history of this great Black American Art Form. It is an honor to play this music, and it is thanks to people like you that we offer high-quality jazz education to all of our students. Playing live once a week has required a major pivot.
