Starbucks has selected Roosevelt Jazz Band 1 to participate in the 2017 Starbucks Hot Java Cool Jazz event at the Paramount Theatre. Starbucks has been sponsoring this event since 1995 and has raised over $500,000 for local high school jazz programs. We are fortunate to be a part of this amazing event and to live in a community that celebrates jazz.

The Roosevelt High School Jazz Band performs Duke Ellington’s Jazz Nutcracker December 3 and 4!
Swing into the holiday season with Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn’s festive Jazz Nutcracker, a fanciful take on the Tchaikovsky suite. The award-winning Roosevelt Jazz Band is fortunate to have the rights to perform this arrangement. Join us for a Seattle tradition. Jazz Band 1 was honored to open for Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra last night, October 13, at the Paramount Theater in Seattle. The concert, and the Roosevelt Jazz program, were mentioned in this recent Seattle Times interview with Wynton Marsalis, director of the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra.

Roosevelt Jazz Band 1 and special guest D’Vonne Lewis Limited Edition will play as part of the Earshot Jazz Festival on October 22, 2016 at Roosevelt High School. D’Vonne Lewis is a Roosevelt grad and former drummer in the Roosevelt Jazz band!
Tickets are available at the Earshot link below, $18 for adults and $10 for students. There is also a discounted “Family Pack” ticket option: $50 for two adults and two student tickets.
